Have you been ordered by the legal system to take a Domestic Violence or Batters Intervention Course? This may be due to ongoing personal issues that have lead up to this point, or maybe a one-time situation in which you made an out-of-character mistake. Either way, the court system has identified that jail time isn’t the entire answer. Many offenders are now mandated to take an educational course to teach them what domestic abuse entails, and skills to stop the behavior.

Clients across the country agree that the best way to fulfill these requirements is to take the course online instead of going into a public classroom. Online domestic violence classes provide the same education that an individual would learn in a traditional classroom, but from any Internet based computer instead. You don’t need much computer experience at all because you simply type in the web address www.dvclass.com and press the red button to register. The court will tell you how long of a course that they expect you to take. They are available in 8, 12, 16, 26, 36 and 52-hour increments, but a more personalized program can be worked out as well.

Once you register, the class becomes immediately available on the screen in front of you. At this point, you are ready to begin the learning process. One of the great things about taking a class online is that if you are a busy person, or can’t miss anymore work or school, you can login to the class whenever you have free time. This might mean you login and learn for 20 minutes one day, and 2 hours the next. Instead of having to follow someone else’s classroom schedule, you are in control of how long it will take you to complete the course. So, if you take a 26-hour domestic violence class in-person than it will usually take 6 and ½ months to complete. In contrast, if you take a 26-hour class online, you can finish it in 1 week if you put the time into it. Many clients find this aspect helpful when they have a deadline coming up.

The course is designed by a licensed and practicing psychotherapist and anger management expert. This translates into a very engaging and informational class that will keep you focused and interested. Topics include a discussion about what exactly is domestic violence, understanding the cycle of behavior, where it stems from and how to stop it. Clients learn stress and anger management techniques as well as emotional sensitivity towards others. The goal is to come out of the course with a new set of tools to use when engaging with loved ones. Learning how to effectively communicate without the use of physical or emotional force will give you the opportunity to change your life for the better.

At the end of the class you will get a Certificate of Completion. An original signed copy will be mailed to you for free and you can access a downloadable version as well. Be aware that some states will not allow offenders to take domestic violence classes online. It is the responsibility of the client to confirm with the judge or legal system to make sure they will accept the program. Take an online domestic violence class today for ease, convenience and a solid education.
