Domestic Abuse is a pattern of abusive conduct by one partner in an intimate relationship against another. It is not limited to physical assault but can include stalking, isolation, psychological and financial abuse.

Individuals with lower income levels are more likely to report a domestic assault. Statistics also show that residents of urban areas reported more domestic abuse than in suburban areas. Furthermore, African-American women face higher rates of domestic violence than white women, and American-Indian women are abused at a rate more than double that of women of other races.
